Make-A-Wish Foundation Benefit Concert
Throughout my college career, this annual benefit concert, hosted by my a cappella group, evolved from a simple fundraiser into one of the most meaningful projects I’ve ever worked on. What began as just another campus event quickly became an outlet for creativity, leadership, and purpose.
As I grew within the group, I took on a larger role in planning and designing nearly every aspect of the event: t-shirts, posters, tickets, postcards, programs, and venue decor. I also had the opportunity to mentor newer members, passing on design and branding skills so the concert’s legacy could continue after my graduation.
Alongside the Public Relations Coordinator and our executive board, we achieved some incredible things for a student-run organization:
- We raised over $40,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and Western North Carolina.
- Performed four benefit concerts and several community gigs, reaching a combined audience of over 4,000 people
- Performed at Carowinds three times for World Wish Day
- Appeared on NBC’s North Carolina affiliate to promote the concert
All while doing what we loved, singing!
This project is the centerpiece of my portfolio because it represents everything I learned at Elon: graphic design, marketing, public relations, print production, leadership, and collaboration. And even better, the content I created for it is still being shared today.
